I wonder what Doug and the BPT having been getting up to. As Chris and I know, the BPT is insatiable. He loves to travel and listen to Adam Shine and Rich Gannon on Sirius/XM NFL Radio. Heard he may make an appearance at the BOB in Grand Rapids on Feb. 24th....... fuck, I miss him so much.......

Pasadena Fire Sale

The FF team Pasadena Mudslide was left in limbo after the owner walked away this weekend. Specifics of what caused the exodus are not yet available. The only traces that were left behind were piles of shredded documents, a for sale sign, and tire tracks across the front lawn. The sudden pull out, a move that owner Mark Rinehart has made before, leaves the future of FF in Pasadena very much in question.

Attempts are being made to contact Rinehart for comment. Several parties have expressed interest in purchasing this up and coming franchise. They include ex NFL quarterback Warren Moon, and former recording star and Flint Tropics owner/coach/player Jackie Moon. The others preferred to remain anonymous.

Hot Stove Fantasy Football Is Back

Well, the old commish just returned from a one week Championship bender and haven't got to catch my bearings.  It took me a couple hours to sweep up, get the water heater lit, the water turned on and chase two squirrels out of the old blog, but just like Old Faithful, she is up and ready to go again for Season Four!

Soon the draft clock will be ticking on season four, but I just wanted to thank everyone for playing season three and making it as fun as usual.  I know a lot of people shit on Fantasy Football as a waste of time, but it is my favorite way to keep in touch with my pals, old and new!  And face it, sometimes you just gotta be able to tell somebody to suck it!  So at this time, Don and Mark please suck it!

Let's not let the smack wither over the off season.  I will try my best to stir things up here from ground zero, but feel free to post or comment anytime...really on anything you think the fellas might enjoy.  If you don't follow the blog yet, do so on the right hand box.

5 Days!

Holy crap!  Can you feel the anticipation building?  It's nearly draft time boys.

Here is your friendly neighborhood Commissioner's pre-draft checklist!

1.  Check your computer to make sure it has the right software for the draft.

2.  Make sure you are ready to draft and in the draft room at 8:45pm on Thursday.

3.  If you are in the Blue Room Division...study up...draft well...play hard.

4.  If you are in the Short Bus Division...have a drink...smoke up...do no research.

Things are going to fast directly after the draft.  No trades will be executed by the Commish's office until Saturday the 27th as a cooling off period.  Midnight on the 27th all trades will be blessed and we are live for football.

The Bulletproof Tiger has expanded!  We have 2 new owners nominated by our favorite Asian Assassin, Rob!  Welcome Char Atkins...yes, another brother/brother rivalry.  Welcome Jason Fagerman, Rob's cohort and a reported all round good dude!

Char's team will take the 13th draft pick in the order and will be a member of the daunting Short Bus Division.

Jason's team will take the 14th draft pick in the order and will be a member of the less daunting Blue Room Division.

Since we have balanced the expansion, we get one more playoff spot.  The downside/upside of that is that there will only be one bye in the playoffs...best overall record.  Playoff structure beyond that will be the same as last year.

We still have a $25 fee for the season and the distribution will be as follows.

The Commish's State of The League Address

A mere two weeks ago we did not even know if we were going to have any football this season, fantasy or NFL, now we are poised for the most important day of the Fantasy Football year, the Draft!

As a league, we have filled our expansion vacancy with a new, strong, fantasy owner.  His credentials have been checked and our due diligence has been completed.  I would like to welcome Jeff Waldon into the BPT.  Owner, Mark Rinehart, sponsored Jeff, and he will be a great addition.  I wish him luck in all the weeks he plays someone other than the Xplodey Coyotes!

The silence has been deafening on the question of changes and tweaks to the league rules.  Upon reflection, I issue the executive order hereby that all rules from 2010 shall stand for 2011.

In closing, I want to thank you, my fellow owners, for your continued commitment to making the Bulletproof Tiger the finest Fantasy Football league in all the land and I proclaim on this day that the State Of Our League is STRONG!

Thursday, August 25th 2011 at 9 p.m. is ground zero, the Alamo and the O.K. Corral all twisted together!  

The draft will be handled by the ESPN mother ship.  Each owner must be signed into ESPN league site by 8:45 eastern. 

 All owners must log in before the 25th and go to the mock draft center...at the top of the league page.  You must run the "is my computer compatible" app to see if your computer can handle the pure energy that is the draft.  If your computer doesn't have the balls, you will be guided to the proper software to get you into the draft.

Mock drafts are available 24 hours per day so check it out!  

More information to come!  

We have a new member, more info to come.  We also may have a couple expansion teams to take us out to 14 teams...I will share more when I know more!

This was supposed to be a video, but time got away from me and I know you guys are chomping at the bit to do mock drafts with your actual draft order.

The draft order was chosen by random card pick and was verified by the law offices of my mom.  If you want to bitch about it, call her...on second thought, just deal with it.

The cards were dealt in the order of place from last season with the empty team, which is soon to be filled, taking Drew's position, which was so greatly earned.

Let's Take A Minute...

to reflect on just how glad we are that there will be football!

I am heading out for a barely earned vacation this week.  On August 1, the draft pick order will be revealed with the annual Commissioner's State Of The League Address.  A draft date will also be put in stone at the address.  I am gathering input as this week and it will be decided.

If you would like to add your input into anything, please give me a shout...616-929-0042!   We need another owner!  Please put your minds to it.  If we don't have one by the draft date, we can auto pick for the draft position, but we need a player by week 1.  Put your brains to it!

It seems that we may be close to having an NFL season!  I am knocking on wood as we speak!  With the season coming, regardless of the labor situation, we need to have a draft.

I will be making the annual draft pick video very soon!  I realize that the mock drafts are live and some owners want to know their draft position so they can make strategic plans.

A date for the draft is going to be decided very soon.  I need to talk to our out of Michigan owners to make sure everyone will be available at a date chosen.

I have discussed the draft format issue with many owners.  Of course, best case scenario would be to have all of us in a room with beer and strippers, but I don't think that we are going to pull that off.  I think the most effective and league friendly way to handle the draft is to have the mothership at ESPN handle the draft and we can just sign in and draft.  There will be a live taunting mechanism there, plus any additional taunting that we can bring in using Skype or other avenues.

We need a new team owner!  The people who have shown interest have flaked out.  I am glad because we don't want flakes...we are flaky enough as we stand.  If you have any suggestions of new owners please contact your friendly neighborhood commish and I will run it in front of the owners.   Please choose people who can take a fucking joke and who will be willing to put the time in...other than that, I will trust your discretion.

The Draft Looms

Fellow Owners!

The BPT draft is coming sooner than you think.  In the neighborhood of 60 days you will be drafting your new squads.  I will be setting the date very soon.  We are having an offline draft this season since we are going to have so many owners live and in person in the area.  I will make accommodations for out of town owners to be present in a virtual manner.

Some owner business.   Drew has decided to no longer play, so we have a team opening.  If you have a replacement in mind, please let me know so we can vet him through the system and get them up to speed quickly.  Remember, you should bring in new owners who are going to participate and are not easily offended by silliness, graft or malfeasance.

I would really like some input into things you guys thought could be different/better from last year.  Not a fan of the weekly awards...pipe up, not so much a fan of a rule....let's hear it!  I just want to make sure we are doing the right things and that you guys are happy!

I will be putting together a poll for owners very soon so if you would like your issue voted on it should be to me in the very near future.  Let loose in the comments!

As we get closer to the season it will become more and more important that you guys keep an eye on the blog.  I will be posting here consistently.  I will be giving email heads up for now, but as we grow closer to the season, the emails will go away.

What are you guys doing during the lockout? The Bulletproof Tiger and I went to Disney World and hung out at the pool with Scott P. Kroll and Lloyd O'Dell. You should have seen the Tiger's face on Tower of Terror!

Hey Fellow Owners!

Perhaps the best news I have had in months came in my email box today...The Bulletproof Tiger is once again up for grabs.  The mothership at ESPN has reactivated our account and you can now go in and change your teams. Mock drafts start soon.

Even with the actual NFL season in doubt, we are going to draft as usual.  There will be fantasy football if there is one NFL snap this season and we as a league will be ready.  Please go check out the league home and keep your eyes to the blog from now on into the draft for fantasy league updates.

I am building a league survey to take care of some issues.  If you have any issues you would like discussed, let me know and I will include them in the survey.

I can't stress enough how much we need to make this an interactive blog.  If you find a cool article, something funny, new way to taunt your fellow owners, post it!  We were actually ranked as a high volume league last year and we got early access because of it.  This designation is only for leagues who have active participation throughout the season, I am pleased and proud to have a league that is as strong as the BP Tiger.  You guys rock.

If any of you are not planning on playing this season...please contact me soon.  I have 4 people who would like to play if you are not going to be able to play this season.  My goal as a commissioner is to have all teams engaged and playing every week, if you feel you no longer want to be in, let me know.

The Bulletproof Tiger Poker League

The league has been formed!  It was spawned by your commissioner of irreverent gambling fun, me!  As a BP Tiger owner you are automatically a tenured member of the league and are invited to play.

The leagues poker home and virtual clubhouse will be on Pokerstars.com.  It is an easy download and you are ready to play.

Best case scenario would be for all of us to have a cash account and do money transactions online, but as commish, I understand that this may be an issue for some of you.  Instead we are going to be playing the games on the play money side.  All cash will transfer via the regular paths...in person, by check, and best case...Paypal.

I would like your comments on some things you would like to do.  I am going to pass on my thoughts and then see what you guys think.

I would like to have a weekly game.  Texas Hold EM sit and go tournament style.  For instance, nine men sit down, each with the same stack...you are in as long as you have chips.  Winner is the last man standing.  We could play two of them in an evening and the place settings would carry over and scored in league format.  At the end of 8 session or so we will have a graduated tournament for all the bananas.  Highest seed starting with the most chips, lowest seed starting with a short stack and graduated stacks in between.

Anyway there are a thousand variations we can work into it.  I just want to gauge your thoughts.  Invites are going out this week.  I would like to expand it out beyond just the owners, maybe 18 so if you have anyone you think would be game, bring them in as well.

Congrats on your win Don!  What an odd year for bracketology.  Anyone who thought what happened was going to happen is either stupid or lying!

The National Championship game was truly unwatchable!  You gotta give it to Butler and VCU...small schools make the tourney worth watching.  Anyway....I will be sending paypal notices out in the next few days.  Bob and Jim, I will collect from you guys live and in person.
